We ditched the harsh chemicals for Homebiotic to kill mould naturally and maintain the biome in the home

Homebiotic came to us at the right time, mould was growing all over clothes and cupboards at home and affecting sleep and energy levels. When mould is growing in your house you start to notice the symptoms of mould allergy very quickly and you also need to address it fast to avoid some nasty health issues associated with mould exposure.

Typically, people reach for the harsh chemicals like bleach and “mould killers” that are full of harmful chemicals that do more damage than good, and most of them don’t even kill the mould! Homebiotic does not include any chemicals in its ingredients list. Homebiotic is the best natural mould spray specifically designed to actually leave on surfaces and not wipe it off.

The truth is, mould has the ability to slow down your recovery and can produce some heavy issues in the long term like autoimmune issues, skin rashes like eczema, Perioral Dermatitis and constant brain fog. With a suppressed immune system, fast recovery from injury, exercise and even having enough energy to train becomes significantly harder.

We tried Homebiotic Spray across all of the surfaces and mould damaged areas at home and have seen the effects and had the question of ‘how to get rid of mould’ answered. Because we are all about recovery and performance and know the dangers of mould for affecting these negatively, below we share a quick how-to-guide for treating mould both reactively for existing mould and preemptively before the mould arrives using Homebiotic.

How Mould Is Killing Your Recovery

The dangers of mould lay in it’s toxicity to the human body and brain. Mould is a powerful fungus that can trigger the production of microbes and bacteria. Ironically, mould was mistakenly used to create the antibiotic drug, Penicillin, which has had a significant impact on history.

Despite being the catalyst for Penicillin, in most of its forms, mould is toxic to humans and can contribute to bad sleep, poor immunity, low energy, gut issues and inflammatory conditions, skin conditions and other severe illness.

If you are living with mould in your house or have an ongoing battle with moisture and mould you could be severely impacting on both your optimal physical performance and your ability to recover from injury or illness. Anything that has the ability to affect sleep, like mould does, is dampening the key opportunity for rebuilding and repairing in your sleep.

Exposure to toxic mold can lead to intestinal problems, like leaky gut. By affecting gut and weakening the intestinal lining, mould is preventing adequate assimilation of nutrients from the food you eat. The ‘leaky gut’ allows toxins to leak from the gut and potentially into the bloodstream, causing a host of potential problems include autoimmune conditions, poor skin health, bloating, diarrhea and neurological diseases.

All-in-all, mould has the potential to delivery a huge blow to recovery and overall health, so you want to ensure that you are giving yourself the best chance at keeping it at bay, to do that we have found the best solution is Homebiotic.

homebiotic cleaner Reviews

Homebiotic spray is the perfect non-toxic and harsh chemical-free addition to any cleaning routine. As a naturally sourced probiotic treatment, it is Human Compatible® and extremely compatible with any eco-friendly multipurpose cleaners. We use the Homebiotic Spray on most areas of the kitchen, floor and cupboards as well as for cleaning some bathroom areas.

The natural ingredients in Homebiotic ensure that a healthy biome remains in the home, where harsh chemicals and bleaches would destroy even the good bacteria essential for maintaining a good, strong immune system.

Each spray contains millions of soil-based probiotics that create a balanced, protective layer on any treatment area, working up to 5 days after initial treatment.

What is it good for? Removing musty odors, grime, grease and general dirt on surfaces. Using Homebiotic is simple, spray it on the surface and wipe or scrub with the Nano Sponge, without completely wiping dry. Let the power of probiotics keep your home healthy & happy.

Homebiotic Nano Sponge

nano sponge Reviews

The Hombiotic Nano Sponge is the solution to your cheap and nasty sponges that grow bacteria and pump micro plastics into the oceans. Did you know? A study done by German researchers in 2017 revealed that common kitchen sponges harbored 362 different types of bacteria – up to 45 BILLION bacteria per square centimeter. Many people utilize traditional cellulose sponges for regular cleaning duties, not knowing they are spreading bacteria and potentially harmful microbes all over their homes. Switch to a Homebiotic Nano Sponge and stop the spread of harmful microbes.

Each box of Homebiotic Nano Sponges are Human Compatible® and comes with 6 sponges that will work hard to keep your home clean! Mold and mildew can easily be spread throughout the home using standard cleaning cloths and sponges, creating a larger threat to the health of your home! The nano capture technology traps bacteria within the sponge, preventing any gathered microbes from being spread around the home – this makes it a great option for cleaning grime and mold. The layered sponge offers both a coarse and textured surface, perfect for anything from kitchen counter messes to scrubbing the tub.

Although the Nano Sponge can be used in a wide variety of areas, due to the abrasiveness of the sponge, we do not recommend using it on wood, natural stone, your car, or any shiny/varnished surfaces due to the possibility of the finish being compromised.

Homebiotic FAQ’s

How do i know if there is mould in my house?

The difficult part about knowing if there is mould in your house is that mould can often be invisible to the naked eye, or at least not visible on the exposed surfaces that you can see.

Mould can be hidden away under carpet, floorboards, behind plaster or gyprock walls, in the ceiling spaces, inside pillows, under or inside furniture as well as under sealed areas like tiles in a bathroom.

Some of the key indicators that there is toxic mould in your house that is causing you harm and impacting your health are:

  • You experience regular respiratory symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, itchy throat;

  • Eczema and other skin related conditions like Perioral Dermatitis and unexplained rashes;

  • Experiencing brain fog, confusion and difficulty concentrating;

  • Asthma flare ups, chest tightness and shortness of breath;

  • Low energy and difficulty sleeping, staying asleep and restlessness

As we mentioned, it can be difficult to see mould. So, it is worth treating areas as if there is mould damage if there have been instances of:

  • Water leaks or burst pipes causing excess water in walls or living spaces;

  • Rooms that do not have adequate ventilation that have had high levels of moisture ie. bathrooms and laundries;

  • Spaces under the house that do not have adequate separation from moist earth or exposed ground like basements, garages and sub level;

  • Flooding from environmental events and burst pipes or mains;

Is mould invisible?

Some mould is easy to spot and can be seen growing on surfaces. Moulds reproduce by means of tiny spores which in the beginning are invisible to the naked eye. Mould spores are almost impossible to completely remove from the household and will naturally float in and out of the home. It is only when excess moisture or humidity is present that the mold spores can grow and develop into a mould issue.

While mold spores are a natural part of the environment and cannot be completely eliminated from indoor spaces, they typically remain dormant unless conditions are favorable for growth. Excess moisture or high humidity levels provide the necessary environment for mold spores to germinate and develop into visible mold growth.

It’s important to address sources of moisture in the home to prevent mold problems. This includes fixing leaks promptly, ensuring proper ventilation in bathrooms and kitchens, using dehumidifiers in damp areas, and promptly drying any wet or damp materials. By controlling moisture levels indoors, you can help prevent mold spores from becoming a mold issue and reduce the risk of mold-related health concerns. If mold is already present, addressing the moisture source and cleaning affected areas promptly can help mitigate further growth and potential health risks associated with mold exposure.

Can mould kill you?

Over time, mould can cause acute health issues that may contribute to disease and illness causing long term ailments or death. As a healthy person, it is very very unlikely for black mould to cause death however even for healthy, fit people mould can cause irritating symptoms that can become progressively worse over time if not removed.

Those most likely to be adversely affected by mould include the very young, the very old, those with compromised immunity and those with pre-existing medical conditions that are likely to compromise their ability to defend against mould.

Why is mould so bad for you?

Mould can trigger the production of microbes and bacteria. Exposure to these bacteria may trigger an inflammatory response in some people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Mould may increase the risk of bronchial and fungal infections, respiratory tract issues, bronchitis, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, nausea.

In addition to respiratory issues, mold exposure may also manifest in other health symptoms including insomnia, fatigue, headaches, and nausea. These symptoms can vary depending on individual sensitivity to mold, the amount and duration of exposure, and the specific type of mold present.

It’s important to address mold issues promptly to mitigate health risks. This includes identifying and correcting sources of moisture or humidity that promote mold growth, improving ventilation in damp areas, and cleaning and drying water-damaged materials promptly. If mold is suspected or visible in your home, consider consulting with a professional for proper assessment and remediation to minimize exposure and potential health impacts. Taking proactive measures to control moisture levels and prevent mold growth can help create a healthier indoor environment for you and your family.
